19th Annual Trail Ride & Drive Recap

Amigos Trail Ride & Drive Outfits Infusion Center at Wickenburg Community Hospital

The 19th Annual Amigos Trail Ride & Drive raised nearly $60,000 for medical equipment to improve the quality of care and safety of patients and healthcare workers at Wickenburg Community Hospital.

The Amigos Trail Ride & Drive is one of the signature fundraising events for Wickenburg Community Hospital Foundation. The Trail Ride was held November 10-13, 2022, and brought 75 riders and drivers to Boyd Ranch. Participants enjoyed trails for riders of all abilities, a Trail Trial Challenge, the ever-popular Gymkhana, and live entertainment. One hundred and twenty-five people gathered for the community dinner rounding out the event.

Attendees purchased critical equipment for WCH’s new and exciting partnership with Cancer Treatment Centers of America and also a maternal/fetal monitor for the Emergency Department:

  • The Hospital’s Boyd Infusion Center will receive six chemotherapy chairs to enhance patient comfort and safety. The chairs feature heat and massage options to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during what can often be long, difficult treatments.
  • The Hospital’s Pharmacy will receive an additional refrigerator to safely store hazardous chemotherapy drugs considered hazardous. The drugs must be quarantined and cannot be refrigerated together with conventional medications.
  • The Hospital’s Emergency Department will receive monitoring technology to for expectant mothers. The monitor will increase the ability to identify fetal and maternal heartbeats and make clinical decisions with more precision.

“The Amigos Trail Ride and Drive brings together people committed to improving the health and well-being of Wickenburg and surrounding communities,” said Bonnie Pollock, co-chair of the Trail Ride committee and a member of the board of directors for Wickenburg Community Hospital Foundation. “We are so thankful to everyone who participates – from the riders and drivers to the committee and all the volunteers.”
